From early on in her education, Jessica knew she wanted to serve those accused of a criminal offense and guide their families through the grueling process. After receiving her bachelor’s degree with honors from Texas A&M University, Jessica pursued her law degree at Texas A&M School of Law with a concentration in criminal law, justice, and policy. There she interned with the Innocence Project clinic, the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office, the Northern District of Texas Federal Public Defender’s Office, and the Office of Judicial Staff Council in Tarrant County.
Upon graduation, she accepted an associate attorney position with a small local criminal defense firm. Jessica represented individuals charged with both misdemeanor and felony state offenses throughout North Texas and assisted with federal cases in both the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Jessica’s commitment to ‘justice for all’ led her to the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office where she proudly served just prior to joining M|C Criminal Law. Jessica now directs her skill, experience, and passion to representing good people with criminal issues for M|C Criminal Law.
Jessica’s work is guided by two principles: (1) the presumption of innocence and (2) the idea that we are all more than the worst thing we’ve ever done. Jessica prides herself on her ability to build relationships with judges, fellow defense attorneys, prosecutors, and court staff. Jessica’s tenacity, compassion, and dedication to defending her clients makes her a force in plea negotiations as well as in adversarial proceedings. In a recent trial, Jessica’s client faced twenty-five to life in prison. After the close of the State’s case, her client walked out of the courthouse with a dismissal.
